Tuesday

a morning thought

Every day we slaughter our finest impulses. That is why we get a heartache when we read those lines written by the hand of a master and recognize them as our own, as the tender shoots which we stifled because we lacked the faith to believe in our own powers, our own criterion of truth and beauty. Every man, when he gets quiet, when he gets desperately honest with himself, is capable of uttering profound truths. We all derive from the same source. There is no mystery about the origin of things. We are all part of creation, all kings, all poets, all musicians; we have only to open up to discover what is already there.

Friday

TGIF

I haven't had too much to say lately - been working too much but the deadline is next week so soon i will have some more downtime. my friend is coming to town tonight for the weekend - it will be good to see her and hang out. i haven't been in the studio for weeks now - the muse has gone on summer vacation - and left me HOT and unmotivated. i'm going with the flow though and Tarot says the Wheel of Fortune is coming my way this week - so i guess i should take a risk and let the goodness play out! I'm loving this and this and this right now.

Desire
by
Mary Oliver

So long as I am hanging on
I want to be young and noble.
I want to be bold.
So said the great buck, named Swirler,
as he stepped like a king past me the week
before he was arrow-killed.
And so said the wren in the bush after
another hard year of love, of nest-life, of
singing.
And so say I early morning, just before
sunrise,
wading the edge of the dark ocean.

Hoping everyone had a brilliant 4th - our neighborhood went off last night! We walked the streets and enjoyed the fireworks but i forgot my camera - a little too much wine ;)

I'm off to the Artbar to pick up some supplies i ordered and then home to work on my next project!

Thursday

Love This

It starts rockin' toward the end!

off for a walk to the farmer's market with a friend then on to work i go - glued down a few elements in the field book but looking forward to some creative time this weekend.

Wednesday

SP and feeling better.....

SP - peppermint tea in my favorite green Wayne mug

So I was hit with some sort of flu or food poisoning on Fri night - omg i was so sick - the sickest i've ever been in my life - feeling better now thankfully. Tom is a wonderful nursemaid, so caring, but please don't ask him for details - they aren't pretty ;)

A few things going on this week - lot's of work as disclosure cut off was yesterday. I think I received an email a minute during work hours yesterday and woke up to another 111 - ugh.

I'm finishing up my journal from the trip - just need to print a few more photos. I'd like to do a little slide show of the book if I can figure out how to do that - maybe a flip cam?

I have an idea or two for QBF goodies and want to get a plan and work on that as I want them to be done and will be so busy in July.

My friend Judy has started a non-profit in San Diego ReInterpret: a great idea of taking used materials, extras, or throwaway items and offering them as art and learning supplies to schools and other organizations. It is shocking to see what is thrown away. I just learned that the Bigbox bookstores tear unsold books in half and trash them in their back dumpsters - what a waste - they could be donated, recycled, etc. Anyway, check it out and support TrashAsArt.org

I met with the contractor about fixing up our guest bath - the tub and tile need to be replaced - so i'm waiting for the quote and dreaming about color/design ideas. Maybe hit the tile shop on Friday if Tom and I both have the day off.

That's it for now.
